Our Diverless Underwater
Inspection Services Are Backed By Over 3 Decades Of World Wide Inspection, Construction And Rehabilitation Of Oil Rigs, Intakes, Dams, Bridges and Pipelines
R.O.V. is based on the fact that you don’t need an
expensive and
dangerous full scaled diving operation for
routine or emergency underwater inspections. The U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers fully understands the inherent
dangers of diving operations and states the following in the first paragraph of its CONTRACT DIVING OPERATIONS REGULATIONS –
30.A GENERAL
30.A.01 Diving shall not be utilized as a work method if the work objective can be more safely and efficiently accomplished by another means, e.g., using remote controlled television systems in lieu of divers.
Through the use of an unmanned underwater robotic observation vehicle or R.O.V., similar to the ones you’ve probably seen on TV or in movies exploring shipwrecks, sunken cities or the deep ocean bottom, underwater inspections can be quickly and safely performed at your facility.
There are many advantages to the Diverless inspection method –
ü No Confined Space Entry requirements
ü No bottom time limitations
ü No chance of injuries to divers
ü No outside support requirements
ü Smaller support crew and equipment requirements
ü No OSHA diver regulations
ü Less disruption of plant operations
ü Much lower Workmen’s Comp exposure
ü Much lower Liability exposure
ü Entry into smaller areas
ü Safer entry into hazardous areas and environments
ü No decompression worries
ü Doesn't get tired, hungry or cold
ü Virtually no high Mob/Demob cost
Which obviously all point to a substantial savings for the client while providing the same inspection services provided by manned diving video inspections.
